Approximately 20% of the site will be set aside for open space, parks, lakes and canals, and sporting facilities. There will be a major focus on landscaping, water, pathways, and green spaces
Education
There are currently 23 private and public schools in Bundaberg including Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican and Seventh Day Adventist campuses.
The Bundaberg campus of the Central Queensland University is situated 2 kilometres from Kensington. The Wide Bay TAFE campus is 3 kilometres away.

The region offers a wide range of tourism and leisure options, including:

- Lady Elliott Island, one of only three island resorts on the Great Barrier Reef with direct flight access to the island airstrip (52 nautical miles north-east by air) - swim, snorkel or dive
