Bundaberg Airport
Bundaberg Airport is owned and operated by Bundaberg City Council as a publicly accessible facility. Runways are:
- 14/32 Bitumen 1533 metres (lighting - PAL 119.6)
- 07/25 Grassed Grey Silt Clay 1128 metres.
Qantaslink - Sunstate Airlines operates twin turboprop Dash 8 (eg. DHC-8 300) flights to Brisbane daily. More than 50 000 people pass through the terminal each year.
For those travelling by light aircraft along the Australian east coast, Bundaberg provides a perfect and logical place to stop over for:
- refuelling
- shopping
- tourism
- entertainment
- accommodation
- visiting friends that have chosen to live at Kensington Lakes Airpark
In mid-October 2006 Bundaberg City Council appointed the architectural firm Sanders Turner Ellick to design a new passenger terminal for the Airport. It is estimated that a new terminal and associated facilities will cost in order of $11 Million dollars. The concept plan will probably be made publicly available by early 2007.
